It was perfect weather for our first off-road winter duathlon of the season!

Big congrats to everyone who tackled the hilly course. It was awesome to see so many new faces out there having a crack, especially in the women’s field

Our lucky spot prize winners thanks to Bikes on La Trobe were Adam, Celsey, Fiona, Matt & Mitch.

About this event

This is a fun and inclusive event where everyone is encouraged to have a go, with distances to suit a wide range of abilities.

 

The course will take you through the picturesque Creswick State Forest, with a short and punchy run course and a ride on the much loved Wolfe’s loop.

The course is suitable for both gravel and mountain bikes.

 

It is a non drafting event. Will offer registration for both individuals and teams of two (one rider one runner)


LOCATION: Intersection of Codes Forest Road and James Hill Road, Creswick State Forest, Ballarat 3350 (Google maps pin here).

TIMES: 9:30 Arrive and set up

9:50 Compulsory pre race event briefing

10am: Race start (mass start)

PARKING: We encourage participants to park at the ‘5 ways’ intersection of White Swan Road and Codes Forest Road, White Swan and Glen Park Roads and ride to the start line as part of your warm up (~4min ride). There is limited parking available along Codes Forrest road near the event start line.

 

PROVIDED:

·       Marshaled bike course NOT CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

·       Bike racking

·       Timing

·       Gear tubs

 

NOTE: Due to the off road nature of the event and forest location, there are NO TOILETS available at the main event area.

 

Nearest public toilets are available at Slatey Creek Camp ground (approx. 7min drive)


WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING:

 

❑Bike (mountain or gravel bike is required, tyres 40mm+ recommended)

❑Helmet

❑ Spare tubes & repair kit

❑Runners

❑Mobile phone

❑Water (Note: no water taps available at the event start area, please come prepared. Nearest water available Slatey Creek Camp ground public toilets (approx. 7min drive)


TICKET/REGISTRATION INFO:

Entries close the Friday at 6pm before the event.

Minimum participants are required for event to go ahead.

Any admission fees will be refunded if event is cancelled.

Not suitable for children under 12.

Photos and times for the event will be posted on public social media. If you do not wish for your images or times to be posted please notify us.
