BTC February Recap!
February has been a jam-packed month full of racing- with the bulk of the tri season taking place.
First of all we had Race 2 of Ballarat Triathlon Club’s Lake Esmond series. Awesome job to everyone there on the day, and especially all the first timers! My mum said to give a shout out to Dad for doing his first tri (in a flashy suit too)!
The following weekend was 2XU Race 4. Ballarat representatives included Jude Channon, Olivia Marr, Chase Tuddenham, Josh Dew and Pat Conway- with Jonas Gonzalez Martin finishing second in AG and Adam finishing 1st in JE. Well done all!
Then we had the Barwon Heads Tri and 2XU Race 5. In Barwon Heads Pat Conway after a strong swim and lightning transitions finished 30th in his category, Woody came 3rd in his category!!! And taking out the female win for the second year was Louise Wood!!! Smashing the competition by over a minute.
In Melbourne, Josh Dew came 7th in the elite field, and Jonas G 6th, Olivia M 30th, Jude 19th in AG, and Adam 6th JE for Junior Sprint nationals.
Also Molly Voss recently competed in the Williamstown 1.2km open water swim. Good racing experience. Just like Ballarat’s local Crit races which I recommend to anyone looking for some draft racing experience.
Reminder that our next event is Lake Esmond Race 3, on 29th March, and will be followed by an end of season wrap up, with food and drinks. Everyone at Race 3, including participants, families, supporters, volunteers are welcome to come along. Hope to see as many there as possible.
Good Luck to everyone in any events over the next month- Look out for Race 3 of BTC Lake Esmond series, 2XU Race 6 and the Devonport triathlon.
Thanks, Adam
