7th June 2009 Road Bike Duathlon (Dunnstown) - Queen's Birthday weekend

Hi to all club members. Most members missed a great event on Sunday, no wind to speak of and for the non-runners a short run. Starting in Dunnstown with a 1200m out and back flat run, the ride had a monster hill so it was decided to only do two laps. I think we are getting soft in our old age !

On the first lap five of the members needed to slow as a train demanded right of way, causing a bit of a new mobile start. Greg Williams and Charles Read had a great race from then on, while Belinda Mirabella took full advantage and raced into third place.

The hill - remember the hill !? Michael Hart will; he had a short rest and lay down just near the top. You would think after all these years he could use his gears correctly. Teresa Whelan caught Hart while he was napping and managed to retain her slender lead.
